About Drea

Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM) and Certified Yoga Therapist (YA).

Drea received a B.S degree in Neurobiology with a minor in Sport nutrition in 2003. While in college she trained to be a competitive Muay Thai kick boxer before becoming a performer in an African dance troupe. She also taught yoga, belly dance and worked as a personal trainer in a local YMCA.  In her last year in college she gave birth to a baby girl (who is now 6) which inspired her to become a certified labor and delivery doula. Her training in both fitness and medicine made it possible to assist moms in the birthing process, recovery and postnatal fitness as well. While fitness and medicine have been top priority, Drea has also been committed to a meditation practice since her grandmother taught her transcendental meditation at the age of 9. For the previous 10 years she has studied culture and spirituality as an apprentice with Indigenous healers from both North and South America and utilizes breath work and meditation techniques as an intentional discipline in her facilitations as a yoga therapist and personal fitness instructor.

As a trainer Drea draws from her experience and studies in Allopathic and Naturopathic medicine to incorporate nutrition principles as well as herbal and vitamin supplementation. Yoga is an integral element in her programs adding complexity, balance and core strength. Her philosophy on fitness is holistic and is influenced by a variety of experience. Drea continues to pursue her Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She teaches yoga classes and leads nutrition workshops in the Portland area.

Drea’s Quotes:

"My intention is to change the conversation we have about health and help people develop a new relationship with their bodies. I approach fitness the same way I approach medicine, listen to the body- it will tell you what it needs. Our biology has an innate intelligence that is considerably vast!" - Drea J Lett
